The Model STX is a standard low watt density hot-wall type vacuum oven. Utilizing long wavelength infrared the externally 360-degree heated chamber reradiates the absorbed heat to the product. The Model STX is most effective for irregular shaped masses and solids in curing, drying, or degassing applications which include volatile or potentially explosive atmospheres. The STX is constructed in two different constructions each with its own specific construction and requirements:
The GOCI control system is unsurpassed in the industry. It features our special F4AV fully programmable controller manufactured by Watlow Electric and industry leader in process control. All of our systems feature two alarms, which can be configured for either process or deviation. Also as standard we provide a FM approved over temperature limit controller shutting down the thermal system in the event of an excessive heater core temperature which could potentially cause product and or system damage. Heaters are controlled using state of the art SCR power controllers maximizing accuracy, reliability and control.
Vacuum, temperature, and event data collection is accessible by several methods. Our F4AV offers two programmable process type retransmits which can be set-up to interface with your data logging equipment sending pressure and temperature reading via VDC or milliamp signal. The second method features the use of Watlow’s Watview software, which is accessed either by the standard USB 232 or optional Ethernet communications. This software allows you to set-up controllers and events, trend plot process values and events. The key feature of Watview is its simple to use profile editor. Creating process recipes or profiles is greatly simplified by using this intuitive fill in the blank and check-box format. Once you have completed a profile you simply upload it to the F4AV for immediate use. Watview is provided free in a 1-hour renewable session format, which can be upgraded to a full version allowing unlimited run-time.
We feature two types of agency approved purge systems depending on location, X and YZ. The STX system is constructed in full compliance with NFPA 79 and 496. The X purge features automatic pneumatic timers which flush purges every time the system has lost air pressure and has fallen below operating pressure. In addition the X purge also disconnects all power to the oven system using its pneumatic power supply contactor, up to 20A. For larger systems the pneumatic power supply contactor is used in conjunction high a higher power electric solenoid driven contactor in order to disconnect operating power. The YZ purge does not disconnect power from the system but simply alarms when purge pressure has been compromised. As an extra element of safety GOCI disconnects all high power thermal circuits until pressure has been restored.
